Presidential Graduate Scholarship

Created in 2010 by the Association, with generous donations from former presidents, this award is given on a competitive basis to two graduate students who are current members of the American Catholic Historical Association and who have papers accepted at either the Annual or Spring meetings.

TWO months prior to either the Annual or Spring meeting, the applicants should provide the following data:

  • A letter formally applying for the grant and detailing the content of his/her paper
  • A mini-c.v. (one page)-A letter of recommendation from a faculty member–preferably the dissertation director.

These should be directed to the Executive Secretary of the Association, R. Bentley Anderson, S.J. at acha@fordham.edu and to the current president of the Association, Thomas Noble at  tnoble@nd.edu. The winners will be notified by the ACHA president or Executive Secretary of their award.

2013 Annual Meeting Deadlines

Preparations for the 2013 Conference are well underway. Those wishing to participate in the 93rd Annual Conference, held jointly with the AHA in New Orleans, should be aware that the deadline for submitting a paper proposal or complete panel proposals is April 20.
