St. Paul’s College in Winnipeg seeks papers on Church in western Canada

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Winnipeg at 100: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Winnipeg, St. Paul’s College, in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Winnipeg, is issuing a call for abstracts for academic papers to be presented at a conference to be held October 22-24, 2015. We are seeking proposals that will provide insights into the Roman Catholic Church in western Canada and to provide a better understanding of the Archdiocese of Winnipeg.

We anticipate that conference papers will subsequently be published in the form of conference proceedings. Both the conference and the subsequent materials will be a valuable contribution to scholarship on the Roman Catholic Church in Canada and understandings of the Archdiocese of Winnipeg. We invite submissions relating to a wide range of disciplines including:

  • Education
  • Liturgical studies
  • Archival Studies
  • History
  • Geography
  • Sociology
  • Anthropology
  • Literature
  • Indigenous studies

All abstracts are due Friday January 30, 2015, and are to be between 150 and 200 words. For those who will be selected for this conference, papers will be due September 5, 2015. Faculty, Graduate students, and other scholars are encouraged to participate.

All final submissions must meet the standards of university-level scholarship with presentations at the conference to be 20 minutes in length.
